Theatre For All!
Generate Theatre Company is based in North Yorkshire and delivers exciting, diverse and tailored drama workshops. We focus on nurturing social and emotional skills such as developing confidence, team building and resilience. We devise theatre that is entertaining but also allows the participants to explore different social, historical, cultural and political issues. Most importantly, we run workshops that are fun, engaging and allow anyone attending to make friends and work with new people.

Our Story
Generate Theatre Company was originally founded by Gemma McDonald in 2005 under the name 'Little Gems Theatre Company'. We ran weekly workshops in Malton offering fun drama experiences for young people aged 5-18.
Gemma has now taken the leap of faith, left her career in formal education and is now focussed on developing Generate Theatre Company even further.
"It's a very exciting time for Generate, as we begin to work with community groups, schools and charities, with drama at the core of everything we do. This is in addition to the continuing provision of youth workshops and training."
Meet The Team
Gemma is passionate about the arts and their potential to help change people's lives. With 17 years as a drama teacher, including leadership and pastoral roles along with over 30 years working in community theatre Gemma brings a wealth of experience to Generate.
